Hi,
My name is Debbie. I started this blog, after being diagnosed with oral cancer, as a way to keep concerned family, friends, and acquaintances informed. I titled this blog "There Will Be Grace" because I do not know if it will be the Lord's will to grant me a complete recovery, but I do know, and stand on His promise, that "His grace will be sufficient".

About Me

Debbie: Oakdale, TN, United States; I was diagnosed with oral cancer on January 20, 2009. At first I was told it was Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Later my diagnosis was changed to Polymorphous Low Grade Adenocarcinoma. However, my cancer has, from the beginning, had the characteristics of ACC not those of PLGA. I have been offered the opportunity to have it retested but I have chosen to leave it alone. My future remains in the hands of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ regardless of the title given to my cancer. With the help of my husband and daughter, I have tried to record my cancer journey here in the hope of being a help to others who find themselves facing this same scary diagnosis. I have included some pretty graphic and very unflattering pictures from the original cancer to where I am today. I also want to share how the Lord has helped and guided my family and I, as we have walked this path. The Lord has blessed me with the best husband and children a woman could ever hope for.

My husband, Wendell, is my "gift" from God!!! He is a unique and wonderful man. He is the only man I know that to insure the carmel sunday he is surprising me with stays perfectly frozen during the 25 minute ride home, wedges it securely in the luggage rack on top of the car!

Josh: my son who has a bigger heart than frame.

Stephanie: my daughter who never asked for anything and has ended up with great treasures .

Jess: My "not by birth" daughter who has so many of my traits it's amazing she's my "not by birth daughter."

Punky: My funny, smart, beautiful, sweet, kind, wonderful, daughter (You can pay me later, but get the money out of Dad's wallet not my purse!!!!)

And then there's my baby Mikiah: the child who asks what she can help me carry ...won't leave me in the dark alone... and will stand and hold the door for me when we come home.
